Coming from Canyon

We are not in Canyon. The studio is at 818 SW 7th Avenue in downtown Amarillo, about 18 miles north up I-27, and this page is about whether that drive is worth making and what time you would need to leave.

Where we actually are

818 SW 7th Avenue
Amarillo, TX 79101

Inside Spacecamp Studios, downtown Amarillo. Free street parking.

One studio, one room, that address. We have no Canyon location, no satellite, nobody who drives out to you and no plan on this page that we are pretending otherwise about. If a lesson in Canyon itself is what you need, we are the wrong studio and would rather say so now than waste your afternoon.

It is also a private building with lessons running in it rather than a shop, so a first visit is a booked lesson rather than a drop in.

The short answers

Do you have a music studio in Canyon, Texas?
No. We have one studio and it is at 818 SW 7th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79101, inside Spacecamp Studios in downtown Amarillo. There is no Launchpad address in Canyon, no second location and no teacher who drives out.
How far is it from Canyon?
About 18 miles, a straight run north up I-27 and then into downtown. There is free street parking outside.
How much are lessons?
$50 for an hour and $30 for a half hour, once a week, with materials included and no signup fee. If you are driving in, an hour in the room may be worth more to you than a half hour. We will book either.
What times work if we are driving from Canyon?
We teach Monday to Thursday, 9:00am to 7:00pm. The latest an hour lesson can start is 6:00pm and the latest a half hour can start is 6:30pm. There are also times from 9:00am in the morning and through the middle of the day, which is the part of the week most people never think to ask about.
What if we cannot make the drive one week?
Tell us at least 48 hours ahead and the lesson moves to another time in the same month at no charge. Under that it is charged, because the teacher held the slot.
Do you teach online instead?
No. Every lesson here is in person, in the Studio Room, which is the honest reason the drive is the drive.

Why a Canyon family makes the drive

The same teacher, every week

You are told who is teaching before you book and you keep them. For a drive that matters more than it does for a studio down the road: the week you get handed to a stranger is the week the drive stops being worth it.

Morning and midday times exist

Teaching starts at 9:00am, not after school. A homeschool family can come in the morning and be home before lunch, and an adult or a West Texas A&M student with a weekday gap can take a time nobody is competing for.

One trip, more than one student

Brothers and sisters can be booked back to back so the drive covers two lessons instead of one, and whoever is waiting has somewhere comfortable to sit.

A voice teacher who sang in Canyon

Jayden Jolly, who teaches voice here, sang in Canyon varsity choir, went to TMEA and competed in UIL Solo and Ensemble. If your child is in a Canyon choir room now, he has been in it.

Nothing extra once you are there

No signup fee, books and materials included, and you are billed monthly, twelve months a year.

What you can learn here

Guitar with four teachers, bass, piano to intermediate, voice with Jayden, and saxophone and clarinet with CJ Carter. Drums are not taught at the moment and that page says so.

From a parent

“flexible lessons with great instructors.”
